Mission Statement
George Washington Elementary School's guiding force, under the leadership of the Administration, is the School Leadership Council, the Staff/Student Support Team and the Parent Team. Our primary goal under the guidelines of No Child Left Behind is to afford every student an opportunity to engage in the excitement of learning and discovery. We strive to recognize individual differences, providing the resources needed to assist every child in developing his/her potential.We encourage students to become readers, writers, critical thinkers, problem solvers, and risk takers, while guiding them to make choices. It is our aim to support our students in understanding that they must accept responsibility to be self-directed learners.
A school atmosphere that permits parents and staff to support the overall development of the students is our goal. Academic and technological growth and ethical social behavior are both expected and attainable through a school/parental partnership.

George Washington Elementary School is committed to the educational growth and emotional health of our students. We recognize and develop the individually diverse and unique learning styles of each student so that all may attain success. Our goal is for all students to maximize their full potential in achieving the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards and to become valued citizens of their community and state. By providing a positive academic environment that fosters the development of personal values, problem solving and critical thinking, each student will find his/her place in the world.
