☀️Enjoying The 21st Century Summer Program☀️ The Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Summer Program is off to a strong start at Washington School! Our young chefs cooked up tasty dishes with the help of Sticky Fingers Cooking Classes. They stayed active with fun in the sun at the pool & park. Then got creative with STEM, building awesome Marble Mazes in teams! It’s only the beginning and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer brings!
Happy Juneteenth On June 19th, we celebrate the 160th Anniversary of the end of slavery in 1865 in the United States, which is known today as Juneteenth. It is a combination of the month of 'June' and the 'nineteenth' day that commemorates the happy news of newly-freed slaves in Texas at the end of the Civil War.
Remembering D-Day On June 6, 1944, Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, France, changing the course of history. Their courage serves as a reminder of the price of freedom. Let us never forget their heroism and sacrifice.
🦋The Beauty of Butterflies🦋 Washington School’s Kindergarten students learned about the life cycle of butterflies. They observed the different stages of its life cycle and released their butterflies! It was a truly wonderful experience for everyone in attendance.
🏀Congratulations To Our Lady Tigers🏀 Congratulations to the Washington School’s Girls Basketball Team on winning the district wide 5th/6th Grade Basketball Championship Game! It was a great game with tremendous success and school spirit. Go Tigers!
