The Washington School held a successful Back To School Night for all parents and families. Parents were informed about the academic programs, Title 1 funding, and curriculum. Parents were also informed about community resources available and encouraged to participate in a complimentary health screening.

World Mental Health Day is celebrated on October 10th all across the globe with the aim to promote, educate and raise awareness of mental health issues. The focus of this day is also to get people talking about their mental health and eradicate stigmas associated with mental illness. World Mental Health Day is supported by The World Health Organization which organizes events and sets a theme for the year.

The Washington School celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with Kindergarten and First Grade students. They were engaged with an author’s visit, Melissa Morrell, who read her book, Evie’s Favorite Food: Pasteles, to the children. The children interacted with the author and discussed Hispanic culture.

Congratulations to the Washington School’s September Students of the Month! They were recognized and awarded by Principal Rivera for their outstanding NJSLA state testing results and their academic excellence. These are truly incredible students.

This workshop is focused on ensuring students' success by fostering positive and consistent routines that reduce absenteeism and promote academic achievement. The Washington School held its first monthly Parent’s Breakfast. The Administrative Team welcomed all parents and families with a breakfast and pertinent information for the school year. Parents were also provided with good tips to assist their children with homework and valuable resources available from community agencies. Thank you to our Parent Liaison, Mrs. Kanik, for coordinating and organizing this event for our parents.
