The Washington School celebrated Veterans Day! Students participated in classroom activities to honor our Veterans. Staff and students were also encouraged to wear red, white, and blue apparel.

Congratulations to Washington School’s October Students of The Month! Principal Rivera awarded the students with a certificate and awards for their outstanding academic achievements.

The Washington School celebrated Halloween with their Olympics theme! Students participated in a parade and activities throughout the day. Students also received a pumpkin from Mayor Brian P. Stack.

The Washington School celebrated “Violence Awareness Week” with daily themes and classroom activities to promote an awareness of a safe learning environment. This is a state wide initiative at all schools and what a wonderful job by everyone involved.

The Washington School held an Awards Luncheon Ceremony for all the students who achieved the top New Jersey Student Learning Assessment results from last Spring. Principal Rivera and his administrative team awarded the students with a certificate and school pin along with a luncheon. Congratulations to all students who excelled and achieved great results!

The Washington School celebrated “Week of Respect” with a variety of daily themed student activities! “Week of Respect” is a state wide initiative in all schools designed to bring an awareness of respect and bullying prevention.

The Washington School held a successful Back To School Night for all parents and families. Parents were informed about the academic programs, Title 1 funding, and curriculum. Parents were also informed about community resources available and encouraged to participate in a complimentary health screening.

World Mental Health Day is celebrated on October 10th all across the globe with the aim to promote, educate and raise awareness of mental health issues. The focus of this day is also to get people talking about their mental health and eradicate stigmas associated with mental illness. World Mental Health Day is supported by The World Health Organization which organizes events and sets a theme for the year.
